Great vegetarian options, all freshly made! Very friendly staff who go above beyond to give you a good experience! My fave is the veggie korma. Dine in, take away or use menulog for delivery! They are open quite late too! A hidden gem! View all feedback.
We recently moved to Pokeno and whilst it's a nice little community the food options around here are quite limited. We received a brochure of their menu in our letterbox last week and was surprised by a wide range of food offer and the delivery option! We decided to order some food for takeaway tonight and we were not disappointed. We got the Channa Masala, Mixed vegetables curry (vegetarian options) and some nann bread. Food was delicious with just the right amount of spice as we've requested. Friendly staff and good food. Highly recommended!
Visited The India Restaurant for the first time last night, when both my husband and I were craving for a good hearty meal. Moving to a more rural area, we were worried that our cravings for good food might be a problem since there're less choices. But little did we know, this amazing place situated just 15 mins drive from where we are serves delicious hearty Indian food that even in Auckland is hard to get by. And we later found out, they do home delivery to most rural areas near by as well. Bonus! <br/ <br/ We were very happy with our meals. The curries were made with mindfulness and pride of the chef. The favours are complex but well balanced, with a touch of personality. We love going to Indian restaurants ordering the same curry but tasting the slight variations and character differences from different chefs. We got the dine in special prices, which they said the portions was smaller than the normal curry. However, it is still very generous serving size that we couldn't even finish them. The samosas and pakoras were delicious and has good amount of heat in it. Love their nan bread too! <br/ <br/ The service was exceptional! The owners were super friendly and very attentive. She took her time to speak to us and explain the menu. I love how they travelled around different parts of India to taste different dishes to see how they should be made. That's the reason behind their delicious tasting dishes. <br/ <br/ The sweet lasi and salty lasi were a decent surprise to finish our night with. Love everything about our meal. The only minor thing we think it do without was the air freshener was a bit strong in the restaurant. It's nice but just a bit too strong for our preference. <br/ <br/ We would definitely look forward to return there again soon. Can't wait to try their Goa fish curry.
This is a brilliant place, lovely people and amazing food, totally recommend it, all the family love to go here, it is family owned and run by people who care about their food and service
This is our go too. We have never been disappointed with any of the dishes we have chosen or have been recommended to try. Definitely worth asking for their recommendations if you are a bit unsure) and the owners/staff are brilliant.
Went for a Saturday night dinner after church. Service was warm and friendly, also very helpful. First time here and get a few suggestion from lady who served us. Glad we trust her completely, her recommendation of spinach prawn was my favourite. <br/ We ordered mixed entree platter, king prawn saagwala (which was superb! , Navratan Kurma, naan, and dipping sauce. Their garlic chilli naan is one of the best we have tried. All food very well priced as the serving was good. Especially the entry platter (chicken and lamb cooked to perfection . The least favourite would be the samosas (still ok though . <br/ <br/ So glad to hear they have branch in Waiuku. Will be added in our go to dinner in Waiuku. Thank you
