While some patrons express concerns over pricing and missed orders, others celebrate the delicious homemade pasta, flavorful vegan options like the Kofta Gyro, and exceptional service. The atmosphere reflects a casual vibe, with limited outdoor seating and a text-to-order system. Despite varying opinions on consistency, many agree that La Baracca is a standout for its fresh ingredients and accommodating chef, making it a must-visit for both locals and travelers seeking quality dining in this small New Mexican town.
This restaurant is definitely one of the best vegan options in this area of New Mexico. The owner and cook prepares delicious food and was very accommodating in creating some tasty vegan dishes for us. It was a positive sign to see that he even asked for recommendations on vegan cheese to have available for future vegan customers. The current system in place is to text or call to place an order about 30 minutes in advance, as it is currently a one-person operation with limited outdoor seating. The fixed menu may not have all vegan options clearly listed, but simply request vegan food and the owner/chef will offer a few fantastic options to choose from.
I was initially drawn to this restaurant while passing by the drive-through. A friendly man took my order and though they didn't have a vegan option available, he offered a variety of other delicious choices. I ended up trying a tasty sandwich and highly recommend stopping by. Just keep in mind they only accept cash or PayPal.
Tortora is not a vegan-friendly city, but La Baracca is changing that with their vegan duck option, the Vegan Kofta Gyro. It's amazing! Just be sure to skip the feta and tzatziki sauce. They also offer sides like fries and salad with oil and a tangy dressing. Since it's primarily a take-out spot, I suggest calling ahead to place your order. Keep in mind there is a 30-minute wait time and only two outdoor tables available due to COVID restrictions.
Try this in this small town...La Baracca You know you 're in a small town when you are at the only drinking establishment which is a local brewery. And the reply to your question of what kind of wine do you have is Red or White. Try ordering good eats with the food delivered to your table in the brewery. Try the food that is so good that you cannot believe you are not at a fine Italian restaurant in a big city. Wife being lactose intolerant can only have hard cheeses so the Alfredo penne pasta wouldn 't do. However the reply to your text question is that a pesto penne pasta is doable. You struggle with your text reply due to fat fingers syndrome so Michael actually calls to see if everything is okay! You order the Penne pasta with pesto that is fresh and vibrant. Hot, but not too hot Italian sausage pasta was our second entree. You could tell both entrees were made with care and delivered immediately after being cooked. With the salad and garlic bread there was enough leftovers for another meal. Try visiting the beautiful small town of Truth or Consequences New Mexico and the fine dining of La Baracca. Dietary restrictions: Accommodated lactose intolerance
The food at LA Barracca is fantastic! After following them online, my wife and I finally had the chance to dine there. During a recent trip from Silver City to Taos, we ordered three Philly cheesesteak plates. The flavor was excellent and the portions were generous. We will definitely be returning. We had lunch, and the price per person was between $10-20. I highly recommend trying their Philly Cheese Steak. The service was also top-notch, with a rating of 5 out of 5.
