What User doesn't like about New Moon Natural Foods:
staying in trucke seems to be the best option for vegan foods. they sell a lot of milk and meat, but have vegan cheese, mylken, cookies, etc. they can in any case supply enough here to make meals. View all feedback.
When I first moved to Truckee, New Moon was a tiny operation with a sad produce section. Well, those days are long gone. Several expansions later, this is an amazing small-town health food store. Great, 100% organic produce section, lots locally-sourced. A surprisingly comprehensive selection, not every last chile or variety you'd find at the grocery store, but 99% of common staples. AMAZING bulk selection. Rice, nuts, flour, beans, grains, quinoa, spices, dried fruit, you name it. All without the waste of extra packaging. WAY bigger than the grocery store bulk sections which are mostly just nuts and chocolate, not food. Decent selection of other products I need like sauces, tofu and such, but kind of limited by space. For a while they didn't have a hoisin sauce, now they have a weird coconut one. Big aisle of supplements and such which isn't my thing personally, but its there I guess. Smoothie bar isn't really my thing either. The deli food and prepared dishes are not bad at all, but not as amazing as the Tahoe City location's Uncommon Kitchen (which has a few things in the cooler in Truckee, but it's never really well-stocked). Always out of whole-grain/local bread. I wish they'd try to pick up additional suppliers there like Tahoe Bread Co or the folks the Food Hub stocks. Big craft beer selection, lots of tall cans. Wine selection is not so much on-point for me, but they do have a nice Nigori Sake which I appreciate.
Great vegan sandwiches, juices, smoothies, cookies and more. Also very nice selection of groceries, mostly things you cannot find at the Safeway.
Staying in Truckee this seems to be the best option for vegan groceries. They sell a lot of dairy and meats but have vegan cheeses, mylks, cookies, etc. You can definitely get enough supplies here to make meals.
If I could have one of these in AZ instead of whole foods I would swap it in a second. everything you could want to stock up on, vegan meats, vegan cheeses, rice, beans, organic produce, essential oils. super happy we found this place.
If I had one of them in AZ instead of all food, I would trade it in a second. all you want in stock, vegan meat, vegan cheese, rice, beans, organic products, essential oils. super happy we found this place.
