Great hospitality togethet with well cocked and fresh food makes this family owned business well worth the visit. We were 3 generations visiting Trouville and truly enjoyed the very welcoming atmosphere and the well cocked dishes. We had various dishes from charcuterie, smoked salmon...on homemade blinis, foie gras and salads to moules frites, steak and delious cod in coconut sauce. All well cocked and tasty and serv... What Ksawery Kaźmierczak doesn't like about Au Sablier:
Service is friendly but slow. The food did not taste good. wrongly prepared and taste like old frozen food. The sea bass tastes very original. The fajita tastes far from known things. No desert were good. Sad for a restaurant on the port. I don't recommend. View all feedback.
We had recommended au sablier, and the TripAdvisor reviews seemed very positiw, and we were not disappointed. we went twice, on Tuesday 23rd august 2022 and again on Saturday 27th august, which shows that we were happy after our first visit. the Tuesday evening was relatiw calm and we had no problem getting a table. Saturday was significantly more busy and therefore the employees were more busy with others, and although we probably had a table ok, we were glad that we had made a reservation. in the did, as the people would arrive more people on speckle to the available tables, and there was a little turnover of clientel from foot into the . the eating was excellent, and the entire facility was quite relaxed on Tuesday, with only a small staff team. we went for the 35€ fixed price 3 curs menu, and it wasn't until the end of the meal that we discovered the ~26€ fixed price menu that was only slightly from the more expensive menu in my review. we should have done this, and then we searched for this menu price in every restaurant we visited in the next days. note that on the weekend this cheapest fixed price menu does not seem to be available anywhere, nor was it available in au sablier on Saturday. from all restaurants we visited, this is one where we felt the most relaxed. it would be churlish not to give total appreciation, especially if compared to other places we ate. as mentioned above, we give a total excellent rating, with value for money wfm as very good. if we 'd discover the cheapest ~26€/head fixed price menu on Tuesday we gave 'd an excellent total wfm rating. we look forward to returning! merci!
We had a good meal here. decent starter plate made us after delicious cheese and meat quite full. house wine is very affordable, why we love France. Rib eye was good, also pommes. service was okay, though might be better. some people went after a past, unintentional, and I know that I shouldn't order a Caesar salad because he usually disappoints. I know, but I thought that place was pretty high. if someone from the restaurant reads this: please explore how to make this salat, call the current or simply remove it from the menu. there was no (1! ingredient right. no Romain lip sauce, no crumbs, no parmesan cheese, nothing. this salate should taste salty, sour and umami. not like yogurt and huh. I just don't understand. Why don't you take care of yourself as a cook? as if they have no interest in cooking. Oh, good. I should have known. anyway. that's super easy to do, so why? sigh.
After many reviews I thought that would be a nice restaurant, but we were super disappointed by eating. the worst burger I've been trying for years: ... the staff was very friendly, though
We walked into this restaurant by chance, tired after a stroll along Trouville beach. I selected the menu which commenced with a seafood platter consisting of three oysters and six shrimps served with a delicious sauce and black bread with Normandy butter. The next course was a sea bass served with a saffron sauce. Apart from the very good food, we also found the service to be excellent. Even the coffee was served in a very original manner. This restaurant certainly delivers good value for money.
This is a nice small cafe that offer a pretty wide range of French foods - fruit la mer, onion soup, specials. We had an international breakfast, around 10-15 euro, it included fresh orange juice and omelet. Very nice option and not very expensive, as other cafe nearby by the sea is more expensive. Also wine price was very reasonable.
