The location is absolutely great with plenty of walking trails near by and a short drive from Windermere. The room was lovely and clean but the beds were very uncomfortable. We had two beds pushed together and they sank in the middle which left me waking up with a bad back. The restaurant was very busy but our food came out in a reasonable time and was absolutely lovely. Would return but the beds were just a little d... View all feedback.
What Sean Davies doesn't like about Mortal Man:
by ambleside crossed over wansfell pike and that was a very welcome stop. was just a pint with nuts, but only randomly ask if something vegan on the menu and was most surprised when it was a wobble bhaji wrap with chips and salat. was a bit expensive, but we shared and enjoyed thoroughly. on a beautiful day the garden is wonderful with beautiful shrubs and great view on nearby shrubs. To stay in the coniston found this pub in a magazine in our room so decided to pay it what a surprise we got the staff are amazing more than helpful in any look give cumbersome in house ciders and the eating was huge 12 guests ciders on the wall and I tried 9 of them over 2 visits glad I was not lol the place is a real old pub
We were for two nights and loved the cozy family atmosphere, the charming evening entertainments and the seductive old world charm. combine this with a location to dream and they certainly have one of the best hotel / pubs in cumbria. I felt totally pampered by the chef looking for gluten-free meals, eating is freshly prepared very tasty. good, so high quality gluten-free eating.
We stopped here with our two dogs after a long walk. we had a drink and something to eat in the beautiful beer garden. the dame from the bar brought fresh water for our dogs that were received by them with great waggy dicks. we had a club sandwich and the house made salmon tablecake to share with a part of chips. all foods were well presented on crooked plates and tasted super
I called for lunch. the garden area is beautiful. the food that came out was beautifully presented and was delicious, would definitely recommend. discovered, there were only 1 cook up and 2 away sick, there were a few big tables of people and we didn't wait too long. well made cook! and the staff.
One of the lovliest pubs near Windermere. Fab beer garden with amazing views. The food is really good with some lovely ales. Fortunate enough to have been there several times during this glorious hot spell but with its cosy panelled bar I can imagine it being equally appealing in the winter or in Lakeland drizzle.
