We made a reservation at the restaurant as online was too late (same day). Had a table at 18h and super food, the beef was excellent. We will be back.

This bar offers excellent quality and great food. The staff is very friendly and the location on the beautiful high street is charming. I dined there twice during my visit because it was so good.

Went for dinner with my Mum. Oddly rude, dismissive staff took our order at the bar. Staff asked really strange questions whilst I was trying to order my food. I tried to order a pizza and was immediately asked ‘and who will be sharing that?’ I wasn’t expecting this question as I have never been asked that when ordering food and was thrown by it. I think if I want to get a pizza I shouldn’t have to justify it to the person taking my order. If the pizza turns out to be too much for me to finish then I can either leave what I can’t eat or ask for a doggie bag, that is my choice as the customer. He could have politely said that the American pizza was large and perhaps the smaller Italian pizza would be preferable, but it’s still up to me as the customer to choose what to order. He spoke to me as if I was an exasperating child and that I should already know that I would be questioned about this, having never been to this restaurant in my life before! I got a bit flustered and asked to change to the wok chicken and tempura scampi as that seemed a more straightforward item to order. He sighed as if I was such a burden and clearly stupid. He asked me if I wanted extra scampi, but I did not see this listed anywhere as an option on the menu so the question was completely unexpected and it threw me off again. He did not tell me the price for extra scampi. I asked if this would increase the price and he sighed while replying that it would increase the price but ,again, did not tell me the new price, just left the question hanging in the air. I declined extra scampi but by this time I was getting more flustered because these were not questions I was expecting to be asked I just wanted to order my food, you know the way you normally do when at a restaurant! It felt like he was trying to deliberately confuse and befuddle me so that I would overpay, It came across as a ploy to get extra money out of tourists. I ended up ordering something different from my actual preference which was not a great start. The guy taking the order at the bar had such a bizarre attitude I’m annoyed that we didn’t abort the order and just leave. The guy taking the order did not really help explain the card machine to my 74 year old mother when she went to pay. She was asked if she wanted to pay in GDP or Kronor, then had to type in the amount she needed to pay into the key pad. There’s nothing wrong with that, some card payment machines work that way here, but my Mum had a question and she was treated like a problematic child. The waiter who brought the food out was perfectly polite, as was the waiter who took our plates when we had finished, but we only had the briefest interactions with them. The food itself was drenched in way too much sweet chilli sauce from a bottle which ruined it for me, it was unpleasant but we hadn’t eaten that day and we were hungry. The tempura scampi was ok, the chicken and rice was ok but spoilt by the sauce it was in. It was very average food, just ok. Every other reason we went to in Tromso was fantastic, lovely food, excellent quality and superb , friendly, polite and professional table service. This place came as a disappointing and frustrating experience. I left feeling quite upset by the way we were spoken to. This place must get the majority of its footfall from unsuspecting tourists staying in the neighbouring hotels as it’s conveniently located. I would not recommend this place at all. There are much, much better places to eat and not be treated like an idiot for daring to want some food…in a restaurant, of all places!!

The food is a bit basic and seems somewhat overpriced, but they offer a decent meal. You have to order food at the bar. Got a burger with a gluten free bun and ‘small potatoes’ instead of chips, because the chips are fried in a shared fryer.

Staff referred to the allergy menu which was extensive every meal on the menu. No separate fryer so made my daughter potatoes instead of chips. Gf Hamburger bun was delicious. Also made notes for the chef on our order without having to ask. Felt very safe taking my daughter here. Upon asking most items can be modified to seemed like a lot of choice!
