I... read more First of all, this place is a good address for families as their playground is wonderful. Also, it is open Sunday lunch. The food is good but not exceptional. I think that our expectation were very high given that this is a Michelin star restaurant and we were a little bit disapointed by the value for money 350. for 2 adults and 2 children! and also by the service. We waited ages to get the menu and then they kept forgetting us. The somelier on the other hand was excellent and very nice. Some dish were better than others. The big disapointment was the tartare de boeuf which is served with mashed patatoes ! . No toast at all and when we asked for some we got some fresh bread slices... It was overall a goot meal but not outstanding and definitely too expensive for what it was.

After many years of different ownership, it was a pleasure to return to La Chaumière now under the stewardship of Serge Labrosse, who was previously in charge o... read more After many years of different ownership, it was a pleasure to return to La Chaumière now under the stewardship of Serge Labrosse, who was previously in charge of the excellent Buffet de la Gare Eaux-Ives. The menu was full of imaginative dishes giving the diner plenty of choice. The wine list, while expensive, was full of interesting names. I started with the Ravioles de crabe, which was excellent and beautifully presented. I followed this with the Supreme de Volaille, which again was well presented and full of flavour. Good to have Serge back on the busy/overcrowded Geneva culinary scene. I can envisage returning soon.

Somehow I missed out on la Chaumière until now even though the Chef, Serge Labrosse, is more than well known and used to run the legendary Buffet de la Gare des Eaux Vives, as well as le Flacon in Carouge, which I always felt was too small for him. Maybe the fact that his fairly new place is still somewhat under discovered is part of the magic: you don’t have to call weeks before to have a place, it’s not overcrowded with show offs and you’re guaranteed to spend a lovely evening or lunch without the annoying Geneva fluff. So what do you get: simply amazing food with the usual, well thought out and generous Labrosse dishes. It’s well worth the M* if you’re in the gastro section; though I’d equally recommend the bistro a truly gorgeous setting in one of the nicest parts of Geneva’s countryside, quite close to the centre quite reasonable prices (both food and wine) given the quality and compared to most other places in Geneva What would I improve? Very little. The service can apparently be a little slow as some of the reviews suggest. Oh well, I’m not in a hurry when I go to a restaurant like this, and we didn’t have a problem. This is my new favourite place in Geneva and I can’t recommend it highly enough. Just don’t come if you need the show off, come if you like outstanding food and a beautiful countryside setting.

I don't know who the chef is but he/she must be incredibly talented. Presentation is a work of art. As for the service: impeccable! Accommodating, smiles, warmth. Simply a great experience.
