I was back to Italy with my girlfriend for holidays and met some old friends at Borgo Claudius...We loved it, nice cosy and good quality food mostly produced within the farm, we could visit the cantina where the wine is made and kept. This is a wonderful place serving excellent wine and cold cuts. Very friendly service. When we arrived the place was very full but the staff went out of their way to welcome us and find us somewhere to sit. We will definitely return
On a drive out of Trieste on a beautiful big blue sky day visiting some small and significant (historically) towns we found Borgo Claudius while wandering around the beautiful town of Clauiano. We chanced on this great little place. Family run, it fronts their wine business among other things but the food which was essentially made from local produce hit the spot along with some stunning wine. By Australian standards the wine was superb and the price by the bottle given the wine's quality outstanding value. Some of it went back to our apartment for further examination!

Excellent wines, friendly atmosphere fantastic home made cured meats and other local delicacies. Well worth a visit!
