Finally May 31, 2021 the restaurants in Switzerland reopened it was a though time the last 6 months just being able to dine in a restaurant with a hotel room booking. So first thing I booked was a table for lunch June 1st in the Traube. A restaurant my son and myself have on our list for a long time. It is really a great place to go and they have a very impressive wine list for reasonable prices (still very high end but for what you get ...! . As usual my son already checked out the wine list before and he was quite sure to end up with the 2009 Meursault from Coche Dury what we did. So our meal impression was influenced by the so called Coche Dury effect ; . This wine is from another world and for traditionalists the Meursault to drink for the more progressive ones it will be the Meursault from Arnaud Ente. We decided to go with the menu surprise and still driven by the Coche Dury effect we got the first amuse bouche which was just exquisite and a second one followed soon to standing behind. And I was going to give my first 5 stars ever till the Onion dish (they call it Corona dish because it was create in this time arrived this was really not mine but all the other starters where just exceptional so again I would like to give 4.5 stars. Really Arno Sgier makes probably some of the best starters and I will think about taking next time only a menu out of starters. I need to be fair too I forgot to tell by the reservation that I 'm not eating any meat so it was though to bring best quality for the main (next time I will do . Service and ambiance of the restaurant is world class. Service is very friendly and attentive. You get new bread without asking. Water and wine glasses never went empty even if we asked the Sommelier to but our Meursault inside. We had a nice table on the patio you can see the wine love from Arno Sgier in the Hall of Fame of great bottles of wines standing around. Also very nice is the decoration on the tables, where you can find different soils from famous wine regions amazing how different they look give you a better understanding why wines taste different. Unfortunately the Meursault was gone before the main so my son had to look for another wine (still we had to drive so we were looking for a 37.5cl. They have a nice selection of small bottles too. And if you give my son the the chance for a Bündnerherrschaft (sorry guys great Swiss wine region he normally will go for it. So we ended up with a 2005 Pinot Noir from Gantenbein nice to see that also in the small bottle the 2005 PN was still great (right to drink. Definitely you should not miss the Gourmet Espresso Coffee (really special and you get some sweets too (looking and tasting great . A very nice gesture is the refreshing towel at the end. Yes, all this has its price but it 's worth every Dollar or better Swiss Franc!!! We will be back.
Ambiance is a matter of taste. It was a bit too cool for me, the table was too deep for me (but I'm over 2m). BUT definitely go! The best cuisine far and wide and wonderful people in the service. Great enthusiasm and a lot of passion everywhere. The focus is on the creations of kitchen artist Arno Sgier. Everything created with absolute precision by his kitchen team and served with a lot of expertise. We'll be back for sure.
