Went here for some food shopping, they have a great choice of Italian food, however the prices are on the high side. Since we were there, we also went to grab some food. What Thousand-Islander doesn't like about Eataly Trieste:
Surprised to find only a couple of food outlets in this building. Most of the space is retail. Ate lunch at the pizza and pasta outlet on the top floor. It was ok. View all feedback.
I had a delicious dinner at Eataly on July 3. I ordered a tuna dish that was exquisite. The portion was quite large and I could not finish it. I asked our server for a box to take it home and was very much looking forward to enjoying the tuna for lunch the next day. Our server returned to say there were no more boxes available and she could bring me some aluminum foil to wrap the fish in. I said that would be fine. Then she returned again to say there was no aluminum foil available so there was no way for me to take the food home. I was very disappointed, especially because I know there are many food containers in the other departments of the store. It was very upsetting that I had to waste the rest of my dinner, especially knowing Eataly’s mission to preserve resources and protect the Earth. They had a loyal customer who wants to avoid food waste and was forced to throw away a meal for no good reason. As I left the store, I saw aluminum foil on the shelves and takeout boxes in the other departments that I could have used. I realize that the store and restaurant are separate departments but if the bureaucracy at Eataly is so complicated that the restaurant cannot use a takeout box from another shelf, I think they need to re-examine their code of ethics and systems.

All together, quite a nice place to visit.
We have visited Eataly in Torino, NYC, and other Italian cities and Eataly Trieste definitely has the best view right on the water! We had lunch here our first day, and we would have preferred to just order at the counter but we were guided to sit at the tables and we waited a good while for a waiter to take our order. The next time we went, we just ordered quickly and enjoyed our focaccia, pastries, and cappuccino without table service. There is a large market where you can buy everything edible and lots of cooking related items too.
The window offers a beautiful view of the sea, the port and the ships. food and wines on average. both the spaghetti with sardines and the cut were good, with an acceptable sauce for meat. courtesy of the staff. very suitable for foreigners. very good coffee; Well in Trieste it is difficult to make a coffee not good.
The location for the aperitif outdoors is bruttina, adjacent to the car parked, but the quality of the fruit pestati is remarkable and also excellent appetizers. I liked the quality of music. very nice and efficient the waiter. adequate price. I have no recent experience of catering, I hope it is also improved
