Best was a Tagliata, well done with a wood flavour. Price in the end was an average for this kind of restaurant (22€ each) with wine and dessert.
Not far from the Jewish WW2 memorial you will find this Italian steakhouse. It's on the pricy side, but a good value. I had a good steak truffle sauce. The house wine is a good value at 10 euros per liter. Interestingly enough they served a good crema Catalonia (although with a creme brûlée caramelized sugar crust on top). My wife enjoyed the tagliatelle and son liked his steak, also. Note: only cash accepted.
Tucked away in a typical Trieste backwater, The Once Upon A Time restaurant is a proper Italian treasure that serves great food to local business people. Non-pretentious in nature, but still exuding that typical italian atmosphere, C'era una Volta delivers simple food cooked to perfection. If you are trying to get away from that tourist experience, this place delivers a true local flavour. Recommended.
For meat lovers. not extremely flat position but the pleasant interior environment compensates. family management can balance well rusticity and tradition, embellish the offer with excellent raw materials and an extensive food and wine paper. interesting
Excellent quality. very well the secret of patanegra. I can't judge the price because lunch was offered
