We had a delicious fish based dinner in this small and friendly neighbourhood trattoria, slightly off the beaten track. Starters of a fish stock (pate) and large juicy mussels, followed by tasty fried fish (the calamari was particularly good) and a prawn pasta with chilled water melon for dessert, washed down with a nice dry jug of house white and a sparkling water for €88. Excellent fish restaurant in the center in Trieste. friendly, well furnished and very attentive and competent staff. Traditional menu with some innovations. Suggestion legume soup with barn and branzino, as well as scallops and gratinated canestrelli. average prices.
Wow super happy we went into this jewel. It was initially disappointed that the first restaurant we wanted was booked. Expanded by the service and good tasting food.
Good restaurant with a fine selection of seafood. I really enjoyed the anchovies, gnocchi and selection of sea food, though the mixed fry was a bit much. Excellent house wine and good value all around!
We were a group of 4, arrived early since we did have a reservation. We were seated immediately but could tell that many tables were reserved. Everyone shared 2 appetizers, and each had a first and dessert. Also one bottle of local white wine and a lovely bottle of Prosecco. So happy we had a chance to dine at La Barettine. Sorry no one took pictures.
