The Roman menu is enticing, but compared to my previous visit, which was quite good, this one was a notch below. Especially the pizzas, both salty, one almost crispy and the other undercooked (on the positive side, the toppings were generous). There was some lack of attention to details (gritty puntarelle , imperfectly trimmed artichokes). Service by a young waiter was vey charming, but service from the kitchen was slow. The room is large and can be a bit noisy. Prices are fair. After two different experiences, one positive and the other not disastrous but overall *just* acceptable, I might come back when in the area for something different from pizza and for their Roman offerings which are not easy to find in this region; but now I 'm a bit hesitant in recommending to others.
I had a simple but pleasant lunch at Cacio e Pepe, a restaurant pizzeria in the outskirts of Trento, on the hills. As they specialise in Roman dishes, for starter I tried their carciofi (artichokes) alla Giudia (typical Roman Jewish cuisine) , a dish that is not easily found outside of Rome. As a second course, I went for the pappardelle pasta with artichokes (yes, I love them). The starter was nicely fried and very enjoyable. The artichokes themselves were a little small for this type of dish (they generously serve two, so it 's not a matter of them being stingy but just of the quality of the produce). The pasta was overcooked for my taste, but as for flavour it was tasty and harmonious. This is not a cosy restaurant but a large number operation catering (at least at lunch) for people using the adjacent sporting facilities and hotels, and also local workers. However the room is spacious, airy and well decorated, and service is very well organised. Service is, beside efficient as I noted, also friendly. Prices are perfectly fair in my opinion in view of quality and quantity.
I went there on a Wednesday evening at 20:00, beginning of February Slow day, only 3 of 20+ tables were occupied. This is the restaurant of a multi-sport arena. The flair in the restaurant is pretty basic. This is the restaurant you have some food and drinks with your sports friend after a match. If you look for a place to have a nice dinner with your friends or family, better go somewhere else. The served bread was dry, most likely this was the bread other guests had for lunch on the table. Grilled vegetables was just average, the pizza de la casa was quiet good. The house wine (red) was ok. Served Limoncelli for free after the dinner. But, and this really kills all what was positive, was, when they tried to overcharge me on the grilled vegetable. Instead of 6€ the bill showed 9€. So I will never come back to this just average restaurant.
Is a small, very nice wooden restaurant. December I ordered a daisy pizza I had dinner with at the hotel. and the next day at lunch a nice dish of spaghetti with carbonara. very kind staff. unreal atmosphere.. . I wish a dream. with my heart.
Saturday night, outside full tables, inside all empty, so no fill. With this premise I mean that almost an hour to have pizzas seems excessive: Perhaps it would be better to balance the table service with the takeaway, which I had the feeling was privileged. However the general evaluation is positive with various menus for pizzas and cooking, all of good quality. Prices in standard. Friendly staff. Problems always with the parking lot, always full, which forces you to leave the car rather distant.
