We were at a wedding and reception with dinner at the lodge on 10.14.23. I will say that the food was THE best I have ever had at a wedding venue. Steve, the chef, did an excellent job with the dinner. Heather, the event coordinator made the day so extra special and accommodated every need. The grounds and ceremony set up were beautiful! We had a nice time at Pine Lodge Restaurant last Saturday, however, it was very understaffed! The waitress was also the bartender and was training in a new server. She was very kind and gracious but was overworked and couldn't keep up. Unfortunately, this doesn't bode well. The food was very good, the waitress was a sweetheart, but had to also be the bartender. The ribs and brisket were fantastic! Our server was very friendly and he did a great job! Can't wait to try their Friday night fish specials!
A black mark on Heartwood Resort! Understaffed, lost orders and then to top it off running out of food. Run, don’t walk!
Prices like an upscale place, but steak and walleye were served lukewarm, salad bar was lame. Been there twice, won't go again.

If there had been more staff to assist, there would have been more drinks/appetizers ordered, but we understood the predicament. Management should pay attention to the needs of the customer. There were 20 in our group, plus 4-5 other tables, plus the bar area. So, we understood and didn't complain.
