This mall hidden gem is a witness of how good real family cooking can mean in this part of Italy. They have a special touch of game and meat dishes made as classic tradition is demanding. The owners are super kind people and will make you feel comfortably as guests. The restaurant is quite small and looks as a real traditional dining room inside a normal home. Sit down and relax, their wine list is assuring you good choice at fair prices, their pasta nd risotto simply amazing (they are 5 stars) , we had a fantastic grouse that was reminding me of how good things may taste when perfectly treated. Not fancy but purely real
We had dinner here with the Italian branch of my family while we were visiting them (my father was born in Trecate, as were my grandparents). The owners welcomed our large party warmly and seated us in the cozy dining area, which feels more like a large home than a restaurant. The meal, which had been arranged in advance, included a choice selection of local salamis, bruschetta with wonderfully creamy local gorgonzola, a tasty winter rice dish, pureed potatoes and beef, with a delicious semifreddo gelato dessert. Everything was excellent. I can't speak to prices, though, since the family treated us.
Went to Trecate to visit my mother's birthplace. Who would have known we would also have the absolute best meal we had in our entire ten day trip to Rome, Tuscany, Venice, and Milan! The place is run by a husband and wife. The latter makes all the pasta and food herself. They are so nice and the place is lovely six tables and nicely decorated. The star, though, is the food just amazing. Recommend it highly!
