Stopped in for dinner for the 1st time. I have driven by more times than I can count. The place was great, good food, good service and a friendly price. If like me you have driven by and never stopped, stop in, it's really good.Parking: A lot of space View all feedback.
What awbstl doesn't like about Country House Cafe:
The Country House Cafe looks inviting and suggests an opportunity for a down home meal. It was disappointing. The service is great. The setting is comfortable, but the food seems manufactured rather than homemade. The fried okra was over breaded, the roll seemed off the shelf, the green beans were bland, and the meatloaf was dense and lacking taste. Food was great and large portions. Waitress never returned to our table, but a young man refilled our drinks. I would recommend.
We were in the area for a quick weekend qetaway with our dog. They were close by and their patio was dog friendly so we thought we would give them a try. We ended up going both nights for dinner. The mashed potatoes and sweet potato crunch were our favorite sides we tried. The crab cakes had a nice crunch to the breading. The waiter was very friendly and was extra nice to our dog by bringing her out alittle bite as well. Loved watching all the animals roam around as we ate. Neat place and will definitely come back next time we are in the area
The atmosphere was wonderful, however the food and service was terrible. I hate leaving bad reviews but don’t want anyone else to be disappointed. We had to ask for utensils several times before being able to eat breakfast, the eggs seemed like they were made from powdered eggs or something. The potatoes were rubbery and old and had a vinegar taste to them, the biscuits were hard and cold, the gravy was bland and did not taste well at all. We needed up spending almost $30 for breakfast (not including tip) when the listed price was like $7 and 2 drinks. Would not go back.

This place was cute as a button! However, our experience was not what we hoped for. It was very cold and the food wasn 't much warmer. We arrived before noon and the first two sides we ordered were already out . Really? We both had the turkey and dressing (okay), mac n cheese (cold and the noodles were undercooked). We both ordered sweet potato crisp (out) then went to fried okra. They brought one plate with the okra and then it was out. I wound up with squash casserole which wasn 't bad. The roll was pulled from a bag cold. It was hardly worth the $37 dollars we paid. Thank goodness we had cash or it would have been 4% more. The sign said there was a discount for cash...guess we should have asked for that as we did not receive it. My hope is they will use this as helpful criticism as this place COULD be a real gem.
