What JSPHSM dislikes about Riddles:
From the time we walked in, to receiving two cocktails 30 minutes had gone by. Two of the staff were too busy talking to their friends, one of which was another member of staff, who was sat at the bar drinking. The second our cocktails finally arrived, they turned the lights on and turned the music off, thus destroying any atmosphere, and began drinking with two people sat at the bar. Came in on Saturday bank holiday asking if there was any mocktails (pregnant woman here really missing my alcohol Lovely manager named Beth showed me the mocktails but added if there was anything not on there that I fancied she liked a challenge. Now I am a big whiskey drinker and love dry drinks, not a sweet fan. So when I was looking at the mocktails and she advised me she could make me a drink like a whiskey sours I was sold. IT WAS DELICIOUS!!! Its worth noting your other members of staff I dealt with were all lovely and friendly aswell despite it being a very busy bank holiday Saturday. You all made a fed up pregnant woman very happy and I will be recommending you to everyone and will definitely be back when I can have a real drink :
There are three bars we visit when in Altrincham, The Con Club, The Belgian Bar and Riddles. All three are fabulous but Riddles is a lovely place to just finish off the night. Lovely warm feel to the place and lovely staff who inherently look after us. Some of the cocktails are quite delicious too. I say some cocktails because I haven't tried all of the delicious sounding cocktails yet but rest assured I will! Heh.
We stumbled upon it quite by accident escaping a rowdy bar next door.It has lovely atmosphere and it was perfect for getting together with a few friends for a catch up.The decor was inviting and the lighting was perfect. The choice of music was outstanding- they were playing jazz and the volume was perfect as you didn't have to shout to have a conversation which is something that us nearly impossible to find nowadays in Manchester on a Saturday night. The bar staff were really friendly and provided excellent service. We will definitely be back again!
We called in to Riddles on Saturday 22.05.2021 after an evening meal in Lymm to round off our daughter's birthday celebrations and, from the initial table reservation through to the fantastic cocktails, it was a great experience Making the reservation was easy using the company's website and we received a warm welcome on arrival, were shown to our reserved table (a cosy alcove close to the main bar) and, within minutes, the waitress took our order, a couple of alcohol free cocktails, a really strong bourbon based drink and a Welsh beer all of which arrived very shortly afterwards The ambient atmosphere at Riddles is really cool, a trendy place to hang out that wasn't too crowded for a Saturday avening in these early post Covid times and this was a fantastic end to a wonderful day and evening. I would highly recommend and would be happy to return PS only scored the food as terrible because food is not served at Riddles
Hidden spot in the middle of Altrincham, wouldn't know it's there if I didn't have it recommended by a friend. Enormous variety of beers, local and international. Nibbles menu, very good value for the money. Will definitely recommend for a drink in Altrincham.

We reserved two front booths for a birthday celebration and everyone had a fantastic time! The cocktails were amazing and our waiter provided excellent service, making the experience even better.
First time yesterday, its nice to go somewhere different, it was quiet and we received great attention from the bar man, i tried the Halloween special...
The atmosphere at this restaurant is quirky and relaxed, with a brilliant vibe. The cocktails are a favorite- we love them!
