Reviews summary
Nestled in a quaint corner of Altrincham, the Belgian Bar exudes charm with its cozy atmosphere and welcoming vibe. Guests rave about the extensive selection of authentic Belgian beers and delightful tapas, complemented by attentive and friendly staff. While the bar offers a unique experience reminiscent of European gems, some visitors have encountered service hiccups, particularly during busy times, which can diminish the overall enjoyment. Despite these occasional drawbacks, the warm ambiance, coupled with excellent food and drink options, makes the Belgian Bar a must-visit spot for a memorable dining experience.

Nice friendly place to drink with a fantastic selection of beer staff are great and so welcoming xxx
Great bar. it was our first time in the Belgian bar. we were greeted by friendly staff. the beer menu was extensive with a good mix of strengthen and table services were a bonus. all beers had good terms that might sound a strange thing to mention, but often in small bars with extensive menus this is not always the case. we'll be back soon. very well run.

Wow excellent food on a saturday afternoon highly recommend the halloumi gryo (flat bread wrap). Hot dog was good too. Lovely atmosphere with the roaring fire. Staff were excellent hope to be back soon.
We usually really like Belgian Bar, it’s got a nice atmosphere and the food is nice. We decided to take my parents who were up visiting for dinner and booked a table for 8PM. When making the reservation we specifically asked if they were serving food on Saturday evening which they confirmed they were until 10pm. We arrived for our booking, ordered drinks and were presented with a food menu. Nobody came to take our food order so after around 30 mins I asked if we could place an order, the waitress had to go and check with the chef. After checking and a discussion at the bar with another waitress she informed us we could not place an order for another 30 minutes. When asked why, I was abruptly and rudely told that they were ‘busy and there is only 1 chef’. No one else in the bar was eating so not entirely sure what they were doing, also, if you can’t accommodate 4 people for food on a Saturday evening then don’t take a booking; especially when we specifically stated we wanted to eat. We decided to cut our losses and ate elsewhere. It’s a shame as we have previously eaten here and really enjoyed it, it was also a bit embarrassing as we had raved about the food. You really shouldn’t take a table booking if you can’t provide the requested service. Also there is a way of speaking to people in a polite manner. There are plenty of other places to go in Altrincham.
There was a very rude unhelpful member of staff( apparently she was a senior manager) the other 2 female staff was very helpful and nothing was too much trouble .
5 ladies called in to a very busy bar, the staff went out of their way to get us seated, they were so friendly and extremely knowledgeable about their drinks, food looked good too,,

We popped in for a quick drink and a cheeky cone of chips for the kids while waiting to meet up with friends. We were greeted with a very warm welcome to match the lovely roaring fire. The service was beyond brilliant and there was a great selection of beers on offer. We had plans to eat elsewhere with a larger group but we all came back for more drinks afterwards and will definitely return to sample the roast diner that looked and smelled amazing! The Belgian bar is lovely little gem and dog friendly too. Price per person: £1–10 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Recommended dishes: French Fries
