The brothladen area is small and feels a little old, but I decided to stop by Enka Bakery last month on my way to Mamedeno Restaurant. I quickly checked out the café area, which could use some updating. I bought some bagels and French bread, and found the bagels to have a chewy texture reminiscent of gum, but not overly sweet. I quickly checked out the café area, which could use some updating. I bought some bagels and French bread, and found the bagels to have a chewy texture reminiscent of gum, but not overly sweet. I enjoyed them more than the baguette, which I find at other places frequently. The baguette here wasn't as crispy as I'd like, but I still found it appealing. I inquired with the staff about any animal ingredients in their products, and they pointed out that the bagels, French bread, and Japanese shokupan were safe. They don't take shortcuts in their ingredients, as I had learned from visiting their stall at Shunrakuzen in Nisshin once before.
