Newmarket Steak House Bar & Grill

I love it when a pub nails the menu! The Newmarket has the trifecta - delicious meals, great atmosphere and warm, friendly staff. It was our favourite night out when we were in Townsville last week.

Excellent food & drinks, provides something a little bit different in a great atmosphere!! Food is tasty & some spicy options, great cocktail making skills also!!The hosts have showcased some excellent bands I hope this continues A very welcoming venue, love the wine bar & sports bar too...I'll be back!

Haven't eaten here but the welcome was outstanding. Very inviting and always up for a great chat. Will definitely come back for a beer and the owner will always say G'day.

I tried a piece of my friend's salt and pepper calamari because it tasted 'chemically'. When we complained to the waitress, we were told that it wasn't salt and pepper calamari. They add their own spices. I ended up having two days off work because of the seriousness of my allergic reaction. If you're going to put additional spices, that are quite common allergens in your food, you have a duty to let people know and list them on your menu. Even when I told the staff they'd given me something I was allergic to then didn't care. Please don't eat here folks. We were a large group for lunch so we pre-ordered and they still didn't manage to remember everyone's meal - the last plate was brought out after others had finished. Spend your money elsewhere.

The salt & pepper calamari and chips lunch special is actually some kind of under cooked spicy cajun battered calamari, which was not only so bad I couldn't eat it but also allowed my friend who is severely allergic to unknowingly consume paprika. If I could find a website or email address that actually worked for this place I would send a detailed complaint. NEVER eat here.
