we had a large group for the breakfast buffet Wow the food was delicious and the staff were all so friendly that the Barman or Barista Nathan made the best coffee and was so delightful with all who went to the restaurant loved the food so much we came to dinner. Make yourself a favor and try the grilled fish on the special menu the sauce was to die. This place is all about what was good old fashion service earlier. I... View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Centro Bar And Restaurant Townsville:
SERVES AS THE F&B OUTLET FOR THE CENTRAL HOTEL Best viewed as a convenient eatery if you don't want to leave the hotel... although there are some good options in the local area. The restaurant is fairly sterile with no vibe or character. Simple meals such as steak and chips. Service is OK but it isn't the sort of place you'd go to for a special occasion or a long night socialising with friends. View all feedback.
Recommend the food and they have live jazz on Wednesday and Friday night.

Simply terrible. Went out for our friend's birthday breakfast and the wait time to be served was ridiculous. Waited for longer than 30 minutes for our order to be taken and then we were seated. The food served was all pre-cooked and not nice at all. Would not recommend to anyone.
Now, I'm not one to usually take the time out of my day to write reviews for sub par cafes. But this one took the cake. Waiting in line to be served gave real insight into the plight of Schapelle Corby in a Balinese prison praying to line up for the firing squad just to be put out of your misery. Side note: did just witness a staff member walk through the cafe to smoke a cigarette lol The food was akin to a C standard in grade 8 Home Economics, the service was pathetic, and I can only imagine how horrific it would have been if they were actually busy. As far as I'm concerned, Schapelle got off lucky.
