Trailhead - Townsend
Trailhead
Description
A rustic spot praised for well-executed steaks, trout and a standout blueberry cheesecake, this restaurant makes for a worthwhile drive from Pigeon Forge and suits birthdays and special dinners. Service is friendly and attentive at times, and beer is cold and budget-friendly, but inconsistent staffing, a strict seating policy for groups and unexpectedly long waits — even when not busy — temper the experience. Reservations are recommended for peak times; overall, food quality often redeems operational hiccups.

Nothing to write home about. Every time I walk by, this place seems deserted. One weekend, there were just the two of us, a waitress, and a man in the kitchen. We ordered trout and another dish, and it was quite disappointing. I can't recommend it. If you're looking for a great dining experience, I suggest visiting the Allison Catfish Farm Restaurant in Friendsville for the best catfish in Tennessee (seasonal) or Z Fish House in Loudon, TN.
The food has always been awesome. Trout, steaks, etc. There is an extremely long wait time, even if there isn't a crowd. My opinion, the food is worth the wait.
We had dinner at this place and it was great. It was my birthday dinner and couldn't have been more perfect. My wife had the blackened shrimp and I had the Filet Mignon. We shared the entrees along with the sweet corn, green beans, fully loaded baked potato,The Surf Turf were cooked to our perfection, the veggies were perfect, not soggy at all. Our attendant, Bonnie, was very cordial, informative and has very good customer service skills. We plan to keep returning.
After having a nightmare experience at Tony Gore Smoky mountain barbecue. Thank god we found this place . Steak and Trout did NOT disappoint.
