This is a 'seafood shack ' type of ambiance. Ever been to Cape Cod? Many good seafood places operate out of roadside shacks. The etouffe is mediocre in flavor, but plenty of crawfish. we had the boil for 2, adding black mussels. Food was cooked correctly. Nothing was unsatisfactor, except the sausage was SUPER SALTY. The corn was especially good. Lobster tail, mussels, shrimp, potatoes, crabs, etc. were all good. I h... View all feedback.
What Robert Williams doesn't like about Storming Crab:
We'd been to one of these restaurants in KY and loved it. They were out of crab legs and lobster. A woman was literally laying across a bench of a booth. They do not offer iced tea. Dirty. After all this, we decided to leave. Went to another restaurant close by and shared our experience while waiting for a table. A lady said to be thankful that we didn't eat there as she had and it was horrible. View all feedback.
My husband and I were looking for someplace to have a nice seafood dinner. We drive by the Storming Crab often and thought we would try it. Worst decision ever. Our first clue should have been that the parking lot was empty at 6:00 on a Friday night. We ventured in. While some may appreciate the patrons messages on the wall, it was everywhere. A big turn-off. We sat down and I ordered a Hurricane Jay. This was one of the two highlights of my dining experience. I ordered scallops in garlic butter. My husband ordered two lobster tails. Our waitress brought us complimentary garlic crab cheese bread which was excellent. The remaining part of my dinner, not so much. I got 6 small-ish scallops, a salt potato cut in half and a half ear of corn. My scallops were gritty and the potato was nothing special- just a potato. My husband received two salt potatoes cut in half and a full ear of corn. The lobster tails were meager, he asked once for another fork to break into the tails to hunt for his meat, and when that didn't work he had to ask a second time for a shell cracker to search for the lobster meat. This experience dampened an otherwise pleasant evening. We paid Red Lobster prices for Long John Silver -type food. Next time I will drive the extra mile to Red Lobster. Giving this establishment one star is being generous.
Went out to lunch with my dad and was looking forward to some seafood and I was so disappointed! The menu items for entrees were around $75 a plate…and if you were looking for something for lunch you could eat a host of fried foods for around $15-$20 but nothing healthy. The restaurant decor looks like it was put together by a group of community college frat boys and the place was filthy.Never again.
I should have known better than to have seafood boil in such a land locked town. My suspicion was immediately raised when my order arrived within 10 minutes of ordering. That meant it wasn't freshly prepared. I could tell the corn had been sitting in butter for sometime. It was mushy and tasteless. The crayfish were barely edible--most rotted with black meat. I'm going to sleep hoping I'm not going to be sick in the morning.

Biggest disappointment were no oysters on a Friday (nor any whole lobsters, which we didn 't care about whole lobster). Some bottled alcohol on menu weren 't in stock. Service was attentive quick.
Was very disappointed with the whole storming crab experience. I was looking forward to some good seafood after looking at the menu online and tiramisu. When we arrived on a Sunday lunchtime the place was empty only one other couple there. The waitress didn’t know anything about the food. The soft shell crab was overpowered by the breading could not taste any meat. The gator meat was the same. Then the desert was the worst. Was looking forward to a nice creamy tiramisu that was shown on the online menu. What we got was a dried up cupcake with Imitation filling and whip topping on top and a crazy amount of chocolate syrup. And the cost was just shameful . Way over priced. Would not go there again or recommend it.
