Staff friendly and food was okay. Pancakes were a bit tough but still edible...

We have been going to this IHOP for years. Before I air my latest gripe I suppose I should say that I like their hamburgers and their omelette that's on the early dining menu. They are a very good price for what you get . Around covid they had a fantastic early dining menu. They still have it but now it's a little bit more expensive. I would get the hamburger with a side of Pancakes which sounds crazy but I would take the pancakes home and have them as a breakfast treat. They used to have a hearty grain pancake which was DELICIOUS especially with the butter pecan syrup. now the gripe) But they have been replaced by a protein pancake which you can put some fruit in if you want. I got the plain protein pancake and I have to say it was tasteless with almost the consistency of cardboard. One would not recognize it as a pancake. Yes it's supposed to be a healthy choice and perhaps you think I am not a fan of healthy. But in fact every morning for breakfast I have muesli which consists of Oats flax seeds chia seeds and other things that are in those pancakes. I love my cereal it's delicious but those pancakes are an embarrassment to the concept of pancake. On another note sometimes the wait staff is good and sometimes they're not. On our last visit we waited a long time for our food and our waiter was not great.

Absolutely terrible service this morning. Started with a 15 min wait, thats fine. Waited for 20 minutes before waitress came to our table. In the mean time 4 more tables were seated and had drinks already. Took another 15 to get our drinks, waitress stunk like cigarettes. We were there 1 hour 15 minutes before we got our food, from the time were were sat down, we tried to leave before the food came out and just pay for our drinks, but miraculously our food was ready. We sat back down to eat, they kept bringing our food to us because they forgot stuff. Waitress forgot about a refill. Wife talked to waitress and explained nicely that we had to go because our 2 kids had sports to go to. The waitress made it out to her that it was our fault for coming in on a Saturday morning. She also stated that they had a big party to fill their food before us, mind you, they were seated 20 min after us and had their food before us. Even though parking lot was half empty, and plenty of tables open.

I used to love ihop, I hadn’t been in a while so I went on a brunch date before a movie with a friend. I suggested it. I ordered the appetizer sampler and a blueberry refresher. The blueberry refresher looked promising but the water tasted very bad and my order was served rotten onion rings and not-so-fresh chicken. I swallowed a mouthful of onion ring before there was a problem. I was sick all yesterday and burping the taste of rotten onions through the whole movie which we had to exchange our movie time for one 2 hours later because my stomach was turned. I have spent about 4 hours in the bathroom since yesterday and woken up sick this morning. The manager refunded my portion of the meal before we left the restaurant but not my friends. I don’t think I’ll ever eat here again. It’s been a long time since I’ve gotten this sick from eating something.

I brought my significant other and our 13 year old daughter to the Vestal location for dinner. This place has gone completely down hill. Employees arguing and cursing in the kitchen area for all customers to hear. our dinners were brought out portions over a time span making a good deal of it cold and less than appealing And don 't order that rice medley. it was cold, tasted dry and days old. In short, for the almost 100.00 spent there between the bill and tip I would have been way better off hitting TGI Fridays, Olive Garden, or heck, even Denny 's. Our server was great, and none of this was directly her fault. when we voiced our complaint, she forwarded it to her boss. Guess what said boss ' solution was? A future free meal THERE. I wouldn 't wish THAT on the homeless or I 'd give the card away.
