Excellent selection of dishes. The desserts were great. Drink never empty and dishes removed quickly. The only issue I found was the sushi was a bit dried out, and not all of them, just a couple. Maybe those ones don't turn over frequently? View all feedback.
What Sarah Remp doesn't like about Buffet Star:
Unfortunately, I will not be returning. I used to really like it here but last time wasn't the best experience. On the minor side, the hibachi took forever just to cook some garlic green beans... so long... they smelt and tasted horribly burnt. On the most severe side of the visit.... the cockroach running across the table and almost up my arm....nope. That won't be happening again. View all feedback.
We were there towards the end of the day and the food was still fresh and good. Good selection.
Wanted Chinese and ended up at Buffet Star in Vestal for dinner which was a huge fail in it 's self. Long story short, when a restaurant is gouging prices, the food is cold or hard as a rock and they demand a tip when your waitress if you could call her that gives you your drink, disappears the whole time while you are eating and let 's your plates pile up till you leave, I 'd rather take my business elsewhere. I was shocked at how rude the people that run that place are and honestly seeing the parking lot almost empty at 430pm, that says alot. Don 't waste your time or money. $50 for 2 adults and a child for disgusting food. I ll pass.
Went out to eat to catch up with a friend. We were polite. Waitress brings us the check and we pay the bill. As we went to leave the waitress questions how much we leave for a tip. Then points and says this is how much the bill is.. when I looked it was the SUGGESTED amount. She then stood at the table waiting for us to pull out more money for her tip which was harassment. She stood there to make us uncomfortable so we felt like we had to pay her more. Pretty ridiculous if you ask me. Why does she feel so entitled? Never again.
Haven't been here in about a year. Food was OK, lots of variety. The sushi area was lacking compared to last time.
Two of us had lunch there and it was great! Lots of selections and fresh food. Drinks are extra.
