First time trying this restaurant. Their is limited street parking, parking in the back, and parking across the street in the parking garage. We sat out on the patio. I tried the French onion soup, and it was good. I also tried the albacore tuna club with the potato salad. Both were good. My friend tried the Reuben with the veggies, and she said they were both good. The server was kind, and the service was quick. View all feedback.
What Barbara Burczy doesn't like about Palmer Place:
We waited 30 mins for someone to take our order after we reminded them). The food was so-so, came without utensils, napkins. Ketchup and mustard for bratwurst were brought when we were half way done eating. It felt like really poorly managed. Disappointed. View all feedback.
So disappointed in our experience we were seated in the beer garden and ignored for nearly a half hour, despite servers making eye contact with us. No one ever acknowledged we were sitting there in need of drinks/service. We did watch several other tables get service, drinks, to go containers, their checks, etc, so there were servers being attentive to other tables... We eventually gave up and walked out, letting the hostess know what happened, and her only response was to ask (somewhat accusatory) if we had seated ourselves. We were seated by a hostess and informed her as such, to no response. I will not be back. We did have a lovely afternoon at Hop District and highly recommend great service!
Sat down waited 15 minutes no one came to even take drink order. Shame. Liked this place.
I went with my family to enjoy dinner. Despite there being two open tables at the center of the patio my family was seated in the corner tucked away. I asked the young lady host if I could sit in one of the open tables she declined, telling me no because the waitress for those tables was overwhelmed. I found out the waitress I had was serving tables in the area of the open tables. Further, I noticed a gentleman disputed his seating and the same young lady obliged his request and sat him where he chose. This was the first time I entered a restaurant where I could not get accommodated if there were other open tables. It was a bad experience. I have been coming here from time to time over the past 10 years. I ended up finding out there is new management. I am not sure if it is their practice to seat certain people in some areas and allow others to chose their own seating. Nonetheless, a bad experience ruins one’s appetite. They lost my business.

Being discriminated by racists there, first of all, I don’t think it’s the restaurant’s fault, the waitress was fantastic just very busy. I went there with my family last Sunday after church. There was this black and white mix family with 2 kids and the mom’s parents, their teenage son kept staring at me and doing the slanted-eye gestures aggressively. I should’ve told the manager now think, hope the world has love and peace.
