What Caiti K doesn't like about L'isola D'oro Italian:
I’ve enjoyed their food, but sadly poor customer service cannot fix that. I’ve heard from two different parties on separate occasions, that a server (Whom they believe is the owner? In which case they aren’t working on tipped wage anyway. asked, “Aren’t you going to leave me a tip?”. On both occasions the tip was already on the table, she just didn’t see it. I can’t imagine anyone in the service industry actually ask... View all feedback.
UPDATE: had dinner there last night. Again this small cozy restaurant with a quaint atmosphere served us a well prepared satisfying dinner. Companion had a seafood fra diavolo medley of calamari, scallops, mussels, clams over linguine. HUGE portion. Pasta, linguine, was cooked al dente. I had scallops fra diavolo over a thinner pasta, lots of scallops. The sauce had the perfect amount of heat, HUGE portion..well seasoned red sauce for both with razor sliced garlic and basil..plenty of finely grated fresh parmesan was on the table. Fresh iceberg salad and garlic bread accompanied the meals. The owners were working onsite and served all patrons. Polite, accommodating, and just genuine down to earth people. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED as usual. The covid shutdown did not put a crimp in their quality of food or service..reasonably priced.WRITTEN OVER THREE YEARS AGO PRIOR TO COVID: Was there last night with friends. If you are looking for a cozy, down to earth restaurant with huge portions of quality comfort Sicilian Italian food, this is the place. Great service, family owned and operated. The staff that literally treats you like famiglia. They remember you if you dine there once. Reasonable prices, accommodating all requests. Had eggplant parm with ricotta, side of penne. Fresh high quality ricotta, perfectly cooked eggplant not mushy and the penne was al dente. Sauce had a nice lightly sweet taste, not overkill. Friends had a seafood platter over spaghetti and veal cacciatore with penne. The seafood was cooked perfectly, not over or underdone. The veal melted in your mouth. We stayed at the table for three hours finishing our dinner and wine. They never once asked us to leave. This is an off the beaten path restaurant and a gem.. Highly recommended..

Had dinner with my brother. I had a shrimp fra d'ablo. Very nice. More shrimp than I could eat.
Worst food I have ever had. I ordered manicotti and spit my 1st bite out because the cheese was very clearly gone bad. It was sour. There were 4 of us and we all had bad food. When the waitress brought my bill and had taken half off for my meal I responded that I hadn't eaten one bite of my meal so I'm not paying for it either. The manager was extremely rude about it and argued with me.I would never go there again. !
