Nice and relaxed, as you'd expect on a golf course. Reasonably priced,. The service was excellent and friendly. Food courses came well timed. I'm a fan of seafood so a clam chowder plus fish and chips were a must. (Good cod. Not some mystery fish. The portions were generous. I'd highly recommend this place for a nice lunch or an informal dinner. View all feedback.
What Mark D doesn't like about The At River Ridge:
I really wanted to love this place. The apps and the beer are really good; the entrees are either bland or bad. I've been twice. Recommend the nachos and the bruschetta. The bar has a wide varieties of drafts and a good selection of wine. The first time I had the wedge salad as my dinner and I was disappointed; it was bland and the salad dressing was very runny. The second time I tried their ribs. They say they smoke... View all feedback.
Now, on to the downside: the service. I'm surprised to see other reviews mentioning good service because I can't say the same about my experiences. During my latest visit, the restaurant was overwhelmed with a party in the bar area, so I understood why our waitress was a bit less attentive and seemed frazzled. However, I've been there several times when the place was nearly empty, and the servers were still inattentive and occasionally unfriendly. It's definitely disappointing, but I still think it's worth visiting just for the patio.
The atmosphere is laid-back and pleasant, just as you'd expect at a golf course. Prices are reasonable. The service was outstanding and very friendly. The timing of the food courses was perfect. As a seafood lover, I couldn't resist trying the clam chowder and fish and chips. The cod was excellent, not some unknown fish. The portions were quite generous. I highly recommend this spot for a lovely lunch or a casual dinner.
The service here is consistently excellent, and the food is quite tasty. The portion sizes are generous. I highly recommend the California Reuben, which is fantastic, and my wife often chooses the Pastrami Pretzel, a reliable favorite. The Fish and Chips special, accompanied by a rich clam chowder, is also impressive. The only dish that has let me down a few times is the Chicken Parmesan; the breading on the chicken has been nearly burnt during my last couple of visits. Overall, this place is a regular spot for me!
The Pastrami Pretzel is a fantastic way to wrap up 18 holes of golf. Take advantage of the Tuesday Summer Special: 18 holes with a cart for just $40.
I really wanted to enjoy this restaurant. The appetizers and beer are fantastic, but the main courses leave much to be desired, often tasting bland or simply not good. I've visited twice and can definitely recommend the nachos and bruschetta. The bar has a great selection of draft beers and a decent variety of wines. During my first visit, I chose the wedge salad as my main dish, and it was quite disappointing; it was lacking in flavor and the dressing was too watery. On my second visit, I ordered the ribs, which they advertise as smoked on-site. Unfortunately, they were a letdown as well—they came out cold and seemed undercooked, as if they were simply reheated in a microwave. Overall, our dinner for four, which included two appetizers, two glasses of wine, and two Narragansett drafts, totaled $155 with tip.
