Pierre Whites Steak Alegouse

I had a reservation for two through a Wowcher deal which included a visit to the Shard. We arrived at 10 pm and checked in at the desk. As soon as they saw it was a voucher meal, the staff seemed disinterested. We were shown to our table and eventually given the set menu. We had to wait a long time for our order to be taken and had to flag down a waiter. The service seemed more focused on full-paying guests. We had to ask for water and the wine list multiple times before they were brought to us. The water was warm and placed on a side table away from us. We had to ask for refills multiple times. The waitress never returned to see what wine we wanted. When our steaks arrived, one was cooked perfectly while mine was overdone with no pink in sight. It seemed like my steak was not freshly prepared like the other. When asked if we had ordered wine, we said no and returned the wine list. Overall, the experience felt like being a poor person at a fancy event where they try to ignore you. I have had better steaks at my local restaurant and will not be returning or recommending this experience to anyone.

Our daughter surprised us with a reservation at this restaurant, and it turned out to be a fantastic evening with delicious food. I highly recommend this place.

The staff at the restaurant were very friendly and understanding of our late arrival caused by a delayed train. We ordered the set lunch and it was excellent. The mashed potatoes were incredibly smooth and I wish I could make them that way at home! The crème brûlée passed the tap test with flying colors.

For my birthday, my niece gifted me a meal at a restaurant. My husband and I went for lunch and enjoyed a three-course meal along with a cocktail. The service and food were excellent, and the cocktail was particularly tasty. The atmosphere was delightful, and we would certainly come back again.
