Food was super yummy! I had the coconut shrimp chips which were delish. My husband had a hamburger and really enjoyed it. The berry cobbler is a must try. Our waitress was a sweetheart! Can't beat the view! View all feedback.
What Tamara H doesn't like about Fire Mountain:
Stopped in on a Sunday 4ish. Specific hours. We have been excited to revisit since Covid shut them down for longer then normal. Walked in, sign says grab a menu and find a place to sit we do that. Hardy anyone in the place. We sit and 3 other tables flowed in. The servers never said hello, they just walked by and served the patrons that came in behind us. Great venue and even greater food. Definitely a must visit when heading to or from Mt St Helens
Never open, despite the listed hours. Quite a repeated disappointment. If they're seasonal, they need to mention that.
Fire Mountain Grill is THE restaurant to eat at before visiting Mt. St. Helens, especially if you're planning to go towards Johnson Ridge as Fire Mountain Grill is along the way. We came here for lunch before visiting the park, and it was a solid meal with a view. Located in small town Toutle, we had planned to visit Fire Mountain Grill beforehand while planning our Mt. St. Helens weekend trip, which I recommend you do too if you're planning to visit the park. It's a stand alone restaurant in the woods that overlooks Toutle River and is in a house, which is part of its charm! Forget phone service, but you'll enjoy being out in the wilderness. We visited on a Saturday for lunch and the place was busy. We learned that when we visited it was the last Saturday before they were closing for the season, which they do when the weather gets colder. I'm sure they must get a lot of their business from tourists on their way or from Mt. St. Helens. In fact, after we ate here, we spotted many of the same patrons from here at the Johnson Ridge Observatory. The best seat in the house is on the back deck, which looks out to the river and woods. My partner and I both ordered a burger and shared their famous berry cobbler, which you must save room for! Every table was getting the cobbler and after eating it, I can see why. It was delicious, with the warm mixed berry concoction, with a crumbly surface and a big scoop of vanilla ice cream on top. NOMS! The burgers were solid, too, but not my favorite item here after having the cobbler. I recommend if you're planning a trip out to Mt. St. Helens to visit Fire Mountain Grill for a meal. Just remember that it closes for the cold season.
We saw a bear down on the river once when we were here! The food is good, service too. Great seating and views. We like the drive up here and it is very nice to have a good burger to enjoy along the way!
