Book! Book! Book! On Saturday night it was only possible to choose one of two times to eat, due to them being so busy and wanting a first and second service, which is common in France (not sure if this is the same during the week). Once you understand this, my only advice is just go! They had to turn so many people away who were trying their luck without a reservation. They have a larger than average menu (compared to other French restaurants of a similar size) and all the food we had was exquisite a delight for the taste buds! We both enjoyed all of our three courses plus the complementary pâté to go with the bread before the meal lovely! We had a young Chinon red wine, which was fairly priced and good. The service was fantastic I was concerned about having all diners arrive at the same time and how the kitchen would cope, but clearly there is a system, as no one had a long wait. Waiters and waitresses were friendly and efficient. Definitely not cheap cheap, but excellent value for money. There was even an English menu to help my wife out, which was quite rare during our week. The clientele was a real mix of foreigners and French, as this is on the main restaurant street. If I were local, I'd be happy eating here every Saturday night. Have you understood the main piece of advice yet?! You need to BOOK!

What a find. Arrived in Tours earlier on the Sunday. Looked for somewhere central for a group of 8. Have to say staff and chef really friendly, location central, great atmosphere and the food was really 5 star. Wine excellent too. Would really recommend

Wonderful dinner experience; food magnificent, friendly accomodating staff. 3 course dinner for E36, excellent value considering the quality of ingredients. We have 3 more days here and will absolutely endeavour to return before we leave

We truly enjoyed our dinner at L'etable, and the price was excellent for the quality of food. We had the roast camerbert with honey and goats cheese starter, one of us had the generous serving of entrecote steak, goats cheese/shallot sauce, and our other entree was the roast sea bream with oyster mushroom and white butter, and we each had the creme brulee and coconut tiramasu and bread and butter pudding. Ooh la la la la! We really liked the owner and serving staff, and this was another restaurant that we could tell was full of locals. We ate here almost by accident when our restaurant we originally wanted was full, but this turned out to be a great if not better choice. Would definitely recommend.
