What Arnaude Humbert doesn't like about La Madeleine de Proust:
We are staying not far from this restaurant and walked by it quite often. It always seemed to be busy so we decided to try it out for dinner. The decor is great and contrary to some of the other reviews we found the service...to be very good. The food did not live up to the decor or service. We didn't have any complaints, but we felt that for the price there are many better options in Toulouse. View all feedback.
I had booked this restaurant in error and thought it was another place! but very happy. from outside it is only at the corner of two rather not describing roads in toulouse, but that can look foolish. the service is friendly and contemporary, the... proportions are in the same ratio as the cook generous! the weeping list could be a bit more explosive, but still ok. the confit de canard was one of the most beautiful I had in a restaurant and the mushroom risotto was a perfect accompaniment. all in all a very good place for good value and good food.

The location of the Bistro/restaurant is fairly central so a good spot if you happen to be around the Metro station François Verdier nearby the Halle aux Grains We booked at table for lunchtime if you do not like busy places make...sure that you turn up at 12 noon when it opens The owner of the place is quite straight to the point so don 't expect too much drama/attention seeking ... The dishes were quite yummy I had the Salade Terre Mer : mix of toasts of foie gras, with seafood on a bed of salad this was a main . From the recollection from the other guests, they found there food very decent. Beware, the menu displayed on the website doesn 't reflect the real one It has outdoor seated area located on the pavement , so possibility of enjoying a sunny day too It is an address we will try again for lunch PS: for Pork meat lovers especially fond of French Charcuterie , the restaurant uses a Pork cured meat local Producer called Maison Garcia which seems to be a very good well recognised producer of sausages and Pork cured meats [hidden link]
