Delicious fried potatoes with great Toulouse sausage. Friendly attentive staff. The meal was well paced, so we had dessert too! Good location and atmosphere. Menu a little pricey but would visit again. View all feedback.
What Alain Hamon doesn't like about Huguette:
We visited this restaurant base on a local recommendation but end up it was a nightmare. When we arrived the restaurant at around 8pm, nobody would like to approach to arrange us a table and we had to seek for a staff (they were simply chatting among themselves!) I ordered a steak tartare and my friend ordered a pasta and it took ages (we peeped into the kitchen and there was only one poor chef and a helper, no wonde... View all feedback.
Very nice place with nice waiter! after a small complaint, I was kindly compensated with a coffee on the house. Thank you! will be back.
I spent a week end at Toulouse to compare cassoulet and I was very disappointed by chez Huguette, Very expensive for beans, very greasy and tiny duck leg, only 2 piece of meat for a price that is almost twice the cassoulet from the Cave...au Cassoulet. It is not the place to eat a true cassoulet. My wife took the omelette with mushrooms, no taste and she had only this, no salad or patatoes.
I wanted to eat French mushrooms for a long time and I thought a restaurant where a dish costs 28 euros will provide the best possible experience!! Big mistake they came on their own, a bunch of simply fried, oily mushrooms.. no taste at all.....and that, after a long wait when only bread and water were offered. The other dishes we ordered were not much better either dry chicken and soggy chips an undercooked mushroom omelette !! And all very expensive ! Waiters never bothered to ask how the food was. This ruined the whole Toulouse experience Never again !!!
There are plenty of choices on the menu from a snack to menu of the day to 3/4 course meal. The first time we visited we just had a snack and drink whilst watching food being served to other customers which looked really good and tempting so the following day we called back in for our main meal complete with the excellent local red wine called Fronton which is a really good wine as we had tried it previously at and Italian we had visited.
My boyfriend and me went to this restaurant on our first night in Toulouse as it had nice outdoor tables in the buzzing square. I was sold on the 3 course menu of the evening but the food was average at best and so little of it that for 78 euro we didn't think it was good value and mu partner left hungry.
