The best soup in Toulouse! The cuisine is traditional and good, the plate is well stocked and worth the price, we are very well received: I recommend without hesitation. View all feedback.
What Occi Dam doesn't like about Casa Natachou:
We tested the discovery menu. It's quite copious and quite good but without being exceptional. In terms of flavors I discovered things in the main course but not in the starter. Where the problem lies is if we compare the price with other restaurants. €32 starter and main course for fairly simple food, it's too much. On the other hand, my dessert was not expensive and quite original even if I would have liked to have... View all feedback.
We've got a little private corner. for me I took the discovery menu, which allowed me to test a whole assortment of specialties: accras, kodé (fried herring with delicious herring), piment cakes, Haitian salad, fried chicken wings, homemade chips. in dish: ginger chicken, haitian chicken, djon djon rice, and pork griots with vegetables and plantain banana fried (a lot more for the latter was excellent). everything was very good, the chicken is tender, raised, the rice is well cooked and scented. We were also able to taste the homemade soup based on rum which is very good. The boss is very friendly and attentive to the customers. I don't put 5/5 because the price can not suit all the scholarships, but otherwise it was perfect.Think to book, there are often people
I don't fully share most of the reviews. These, the food is good and served in good quantity. but 28€!?! there is no effort to presentation, the quantities are prepared for all customers (no need to prepare anything for each order), and it still remains very simple. I understand that the managers wanted to respect the Haitian tradition, and indeed a refined dish might not have its place here. But at that time, we don't put such prizes. As at the reception, I'm fairly shared: we were very well received. Maybe a little too much. It's very nice to offer us digestives at the end of the meal, but after a certain amount, when we say we prefer to go home, I'd prefer that we respect our choice and that we're not used again.
The place is small but very welcoming. The owners of the place are very nice. You can taste authentic and original dishes.
A second dinner allowed us to confirm our first impression: the kitchen is tasteful and we appreciate the fact-house of the entrances and dishes (we did not taste the desserts). I don't have a comparison point about Haitian cuisine, but it's the first time that I was eating these dishes, which didn't remind me of any anti-Lebanese restaurant I had already been able to test. A good advice could be, for two guests, to take a tasting menu for the first and a simple dish for the second: the portions are generous, it allows to share the assortment of admissions. For the drink, choice of rums, a few bottled beers (a little expensive and a choice without great interest, but that is not necessarily what we're looking for in this restaurant). Friendly service, with all the explanations (necessary!) on the dishes. One black point: a TV screen lit in the restaurant. Why, but why give in to this stupid practice?
A successful restaurant with friends thanks to a great atmosphere and a kitchen to fall! The manager welcomes us with his smile, his humor and knows how to put the mood by pushing the songnette! Not to mention the soup. We will return!Ps: the photo does not make justice to the dish!
