What Emmet Howell doesn't like about Cafe Liberte:
Help! how in 2017 there can still be such a table. The boss welcomed us by stating that his establishment was a wine bar and he specified that he took only a right to the 7€ cap per bottle, so we ordered a bottle of red bandol to 42€. or after verification, the bottle costs 8€ at a lambda caviste. Moreover, it was only after an hour of waiting that our dishes were served. The dishes were insipid without research and... View all feedback.
Managed to get 3 visits in this restaurant before the second big lockdown. we were recommended this place by our surgery in france guide, and it proved to be exceptionally good. actually so good that the next day we returned to lunch and I returned. the following evening, after my wife had been admitted for her operation and I was the loosest end, and it was the eve of unlocking (our lunch had so many dishes, even cheese, not available, but that was not true here). the gorgonzola star my wife had enjoyed was so good that I had it as a cheese course and my lunchtime were so delightful that I had the following (and last) night. waiters were efficient and discreet, although I was discovered while I went to the sick house on Sunday morning and greeted me like a lost friend! wee recommended were good (the weelist is extensive, so a little help was needed). we will be happy to return in more normal times.
Have sat here twice for brekky. 9 euro formula, fresh croissant, huge aid of fresh baguette, great coffee, jam and hurre. sa outside, the sun came behind the building on the opposite side of the square, parfait!
We came here for the Valentine's Day. while we have not made a reservation, we have made a conclusion here, because our other decisions have failed. we were very glad they had us. I wouldn't call this place very expensive, but it's definitiw fine eating. the prices are...as appropriate as any of the best stalls in toulon. we had two waitresses and one sommelier. all were very honest, helpful and sincere. although the restaurant was almost full, our service never suffered. we never waited, nor were we needed to talk. it was a great experience and they really went out of that to make our Valentine's Speciality. the food was cooked exactly as we liked it. the sauces were nicely cubed and complementary. the weepings were very suitable. I'm sure we'll come back here.
We ordered two tartars: one tuna and one beef. We waited a while. but for what result: simply delicious. homemade sauce, original. beef tartar is served with oven potatoes. The staff is very friendly. The boss gave us some secrets of his recipe. But it's not.
First of all, we need to talk about the boss: the big professional of the wine with a mediocre and expensive bandol board, almost obligated to take mineral water under pain of passing for a radin
