My husband and I ate at Char last night for an early Father's Day dinner. From the time we got there till the time we left, everyone was super nice and helpful. What cwins doesn't like about Char:
Website and entrance states dress code strictly enforced but that's a big joke. The people at the table next to us were wearing shorts, slipper, tshirt and backwards baseball cap. Did that bother me? No but then don't make a big deal about the dress code if you're not enforcing it! Hostess staff was rude and dismissive barely paid attention to us. Waiter Demarcus was OUTSTANDING! Our group of four had brunch at Char on Sunday. We began with crab claws, Mimosas and ****** Mary's on our journey to our entrees. Two ordered the special of Eggs Benedict and another had the chopped steak with potatoes and vegetables, and lastly a wedge salad. In all cases the food was outstanding. Jake took great care of us! Char is a wonderful, dependable oasis of fine dining in Jackson and thank you!
What a treat went in for our anniversary 27 years, started with the crab cakes which are phenomenal. Wife had the salmon and I had the cowboy ribeye both cooked medium and was perfection. Sad our friend Tripp moved to Saltines but this is still a 5 star experience.
The service at Char was amazing, but unfournately the food was not. The bread and wedge salad were delicious. But the steak did not have any char or seasonings and the fish did not live to the menus expectations. There was barely any sauce or crab meat. It was not worth paying almost $40 for a meal.
What a wonderful lunch! We were seated on time and at the best table! I had requested a table in the back with my reservation and they put us in the very back round table. Better than expected! Everyone at our table enjoyed their food and our server was spot on to all our requests. We always enjoy the crab claws while we peruse the menu and they were great as always!!We had the musical trio come by and play our requested tune and we had a fabulous time! It's great to have somewhere you can depend on going and it be consistent every time-that's Char for my family!!
We celebrated Father's Day. We had reservations. we waited 1.5 hours for our meals, two steaks. They were luke warm once received them. I expected fresh off the grill sizzling steak for such a long wait. We eat ar Char often for special occasions. This experience was not up to par.
