I recently attended a company workshop at this restaurant. The location is stunning and has a lot of charm. The rooms are of a high quality, the evening meal was delicious, and there were plenty of options for breakfast. I wish I had more time to explore the estate further! I would rate the rooms a 5, service a 4, and location a 5. View all feedback.
What Beatrice Pinfold doesn't like about Dartington Trust:
Avoid parking at this restaurant at all costs! Numerous people have warned about the possibility of receiving a hefty fine if you do so, and you will ultimately be responsible for it. I mistakenly used the wrong Ring Go code for the Cider Press and now I have to pay a ridiculous £145 fee (which I suspect may be a scam). It doesn't come as a surprise though, as the restaurant seemed to be in need of money due to the l... View all feedback.
Would really recommend this place. my partner and I were here for a few nights back in august 2021 and we absolutely loved it. the place is absolutely beautiful. the rooms were simple, but we were more than happy with it, because we only spent time there when we were sleeping and ready. the rooms had basic conveniences like a wardrobe, a complete mirror that is very handy, tea and coffee accessories, shower and dressed. I couldn't make it for the price we paid. we had dinner in the restaurant before place one of the nights that was beautiful. we didn't have to book and the food was so nice. it was so romantic and we could even buy some drinks to come back to the room with us. the location is perfect because it is not far from brixham where we were in the position to get a boat torquay so that we can see so many places in a short time. the personal was so kind and attentive, what is nice to see when they go on vacation because they gave us a really nice greeting. the gardens were absolutely beautiful, there was so much to see, I think we spent an hour or so around the place for which we did not have to pay extra. around the building there were so many different things like wood carving or ceramic or even the national park running around, so there is so much to do. we will come back soon because we loved it absolutely. many thanks for a brilliant stay
Hygiene standards are non existent, rooms were not cleaned to sufficient standard prior to arrival. Shower and bathrooms were not upto standard either, no amenities offered what so ever. The Wifi was described as world class to us but it leaves a lot to be desired which wasn't ideal since my group came there to work.Food was amazing and the surrounding area is beautiful hence the three stars. However, there was one day where we found a slug in our salad. Not much was done to rectify the situation.Overall verdict: slightly too pricey due to accommodation
This place is a strange affair. Once you learn about it’s history and how thing’s are run it’s got the feel of a cult about it.Don’t get me wrong it’s a lovely place to have a walk around and all that, but it is quite expensive too so be careful.
Absolutely stunning! Honestly blown away by the grounds and breathtaking views. An inner city Londoner and have never been to anywhere like this. Honestly you have to visit here. Good location to reach other towns locally and a 20 minute drive to a beach. We had a superior room in the west wing and was absolutely stunning! Honestly can't fault anything what so ever. The reviews below are disappointing regarding the parking. We had parking from when we arrived and until the check out day which they give until the end of the day, not your check out times. I think if you're just visiting for the day then yes you will have to pay for parking but just like anywhere else you visit with paid parking.
Had a great day at dartington with the family, a week later we had a parking fine, I'd stupidly forgot to change the reg on my new car with the ringo app, even though we had purchased a ticket on the app it didn't count we still received a £30 pound fine
