You won't find better hospitality or service in Tossa. Dined here a few times while on holiday thoroughly enjoyed the food here with the beef carpaccio and beef tenderloin being my favourites. The staff were excellent. Possibly the best restauranteur in town
After reading the reviews and having it recommended by a local, we decided to go there for a casual birthday dinner. Don’t trust the reviews! Ordered the lobster croquettes which had clearly just been heated up from frozen, they were lukewarm, soggy and tasted like cat food! They had also ran out of one type so we had two different types. Then had the fish paella which was underwhelming. The portions were quite small, with 2 mussels and 2 prawns each. The rice was lukewarm and just tasted basic. The ambience was not good either, you’re sat on the street between blocks of flats in what appears to be a residential neighbourhood. Overall, it was the worst birthday dinner I could have possibly imagined and put us off Tossa de Mar completely! No point spending €50 on a disappointing experience.
We shared the Alcochofas (artichoke) and ham they were off. Smelly and almost fizzy. Management tried to explain why they were like that. We have had them many times before but not like this. We sent them back. My wife had lamb chops only four and overcooked with no taste. My entrecote was OK but too much connective tissue. Chips were cold so got them re cooked then OK. No atmosphere to speak of and terrible lift music. Not good value but staff OK. Maybe go for the fish or paella if you dare. Expected much but did deliver. Shame!
Excellent service, good quality food, especially the steak and paella and a reasonable price! We have visited this restaurant many times over the years and it never fails to delight us. You are made to feel special by the waiters and the food is always great. The price is reasonable and not too expensive.
