The best things about Antica Pozzo are the warm welcome and ambiance. The food is just simple and okay. It was hot; we dined outside, and it started to rain. Rather than go inside, our table was moved to a covered part of the outside and it was delightful to be there protected by the rain yet being able to see and hear it. Although the food is average, at least on this particular evening, this is a great place to have a meal and spend an evening. I so want to return someday for their specialty, chicken on a spit and polenta, served during cooler months. The menu here is not extensive and changes daily depending on the catch and the season.
It was our first night in Maderno, a Wednesday. We had planned to eat at LaTana, which was full. So we walked to Gatto Giallo which was closed, but Antica Pozzo was open; so 7 of us went in. (I had actually planned to go to A.P. on Thursday anyway. We had a friendly greeting. No other diners were there. There was no menu. The lovely waitress rattled off the choices, not many, without prices. I was getting nervous albeit hungry. The evening turned out to be quite pleasant including the food. Most of us got Lake Garda trout which was excellent. Antico Pozza serves a very limited menu nightly, but the food is good the place is inviting and the service is very accommodating. I still want to go back again someday for chicken and polenta on a spit and hopefully eat outdoors.
Una scelta che mi sento di consigliare: ottimi piatti e servizio eccellente. Ho cenato con un pesce di lago fresco e ben cucinato.
Mangiare molto bene, estremamente cortese, piatto unico la domenica ma in cima. Prezzi onesti. Consigliato! Servizio: Dine in Tipo di Pasto: Pranzo Prezzo a persona: €20–30 Cibo: 4 Servizio: 5 Ambiente: 5
