A local restaurant has garnered mixed reviews, reflecting a blend of experiences from regulars and newcomers alike. While some patrons rave about the fresh, delicious fish and chips, generous portions, and friendly service, others express disappointment over soggy, greasy food and incorrect orders. The establishment's commitment to freshly cooked meals and a clean dining area is acknowledged, but several customers lament the inconsistency in quality and portion sizes, leading to frustrations. Overall, while the restaurant boasts loyal supporters, it faces challenges that could deter potential diners. It remains to be seen if they can address these concerns effectively.

This restaurant serves the best fish and chips in town! Please show your support during this challenging time. We ordered two cod and chips and two sausages, all of which were truly delicious and made to order. View all feedback.

What Melissa D dislikes about Trawlers:
I had to wait for about 5 minutes before receiving my food, which consisted of freshly cooked chips. Typically, in most chip shops you can hear a sizzle as the chips hit the oil, but not here. The chips sounded and tasted as if they were being boiled instead of fried. The oil seemed old, as there was a noticeable smell and black specks on the soggy chips. This restaurant has its good and bad points. On the positive side, they offer very generous portions and large fish sizes. They also have a wide variety of fish options available. However, the restaurant only accepts cash, which can be inconvenient for customers who don't usually carry cash. Additionally, they are not open on Friday evenings, which is a disappointment for those looking for a meal on that night. The chips can sometimes be too greasy, as if they are not drained properly before being served. Overall, the quality of the food is inconsistent, with good meals being very satisfying and bad meals being a letdown. It is worth giving them a try, but improvements could be made such as installing a card machine, improving the drainage of the chips, and possibly opening on Friday nights.

Ordered a large Fish and chips. The chips were soaked in grease and soggy. The fish was really salty. Poor attempt at a fish and chips. However, if quantity is your thing this is the place for you .
