The restaurant I intended to go to was closed, so I picked Al Castello by chance and walked in around 2:15 PM on a Tuesday. The chairs were up on the tables and a man was sweeping the floor. He indicated I could still get a primo (and maybe even a secondo, but I didn't quite understand). They sat me at a table and brought me a very good Penne Arabiatta with fresh bread. I could tell both he and the food were both from the south (both had a little more brazenness than most locals). I asked and he said he was from Campagna. Good experience.
A real mom and pop place, with good, casual dining. Went with a one-year-old baby and felt very welcome. Liked it so much our first time, we went back 3 evenings later (tonight! . Will come back again!
We recently moved to Lerino and found this gem a block from the train station. You are always grated with a smile and if you have children they will put cartoons on the TV. The food is simple but good. Try the truffled risotto or Rustica pizza! My family and I go here every week or so and feel welcome each time. End the meal with a shot of Limoncello to top the great food.
