Bogey's - Torrevieja

The blandest food I have ever put into my mouth, my friends chicken was basically marinated in water rather than peri peri sauce. My onion rings tasted like literal oil, this has made me very sad as I waited all day to eat and I got given this horrible food.

Ate at Bogeys during our holiday in June for our first, and most definitely last time. Waiter didn’t seem to have basic hospitality skills. Asked for the wine menu, to get a frown. Didn’t ask if we wanted a drink when we sat down. Tried the Menu del Noche. Food was awful. Blooming onion was raw inside. Meatballs were grey and sitting in congealed “gravy”. Sizzling chicken fajitas were burnt, sat in copious amount of oil and were completely tasteless. Mentioned to waiter who just repeated what I’d said. No apology, no enquiry. Decided not to chance the pudding, to which we were immediately presented with the bill, even though we still had 1/2 a bottle of wine left. No asking if we wanted a coffee or anything else. On checking the bill saw we were charged more both for the set menu and the wine plus their prices do not include tax, so they add an additional 10% on top don’t know of any other restaurant in The Plaza who do this, and no idea why when everyone has to pay tax! Queried prices with waiter. He wasn’t at all bothered and went back to serving everyone else. Finally we went in to pay, to which he gave us another bill, and proceeded to sarcastically tell me to check it three times. Attitude was appalling. Finally, I felt unwell and was horrendously ill when I got home. Whole evening spoiled. First meal in any of the restaurants in The Plaza that has been bad and has made me ill. Most definitely would not recommend so many better places to choose from.

We had a great evening here and lovely food and drink. The beef stroganoff was so delicious and we also had the lamb wich was really nice. Service was good and we weren’t rushed. We had banoffee pie and chocolate brownie for desert and lots of sangria. We always like coming here but hadn’t been since 2019 when we were last out so we were glad the food was still lovely. We will definitely be back.

Fantastic food, best ribs I’ve had for ages. Could have been more sweet potatoes chips for the price, didn’t detract from the meal.

Booked a table for the Elton John tribute night. Restaurant packed, only two staff on front of house, they never stopped running. Our meal was not rushed, every course was beautiful, could not fault the steaks or the gin. Thank you for a very enjoyable night.
