My partner and I where strolling through Torremolinos looking for a bar to have a few beers. We came across MacKay 's and we decided to have a drink there. We were the only patrons in the pub and we were going to stay for the quiz which was starting about an hour or so after we arrived. We were having a good time amongst ourselves and we ordered a second round. Whilst the barman was serving the second round he referred to us as 'flowers ' which is highly insulting and derogatory to gay male people. I 've never met this person before and I decided to pay my beverage and leave without even drinking it, to what the barman didn 't even question it. After this, my partner when to question the barman about the term used by him, and after a brief conversarion the barman said that he was used to use this term 'up North ', which I highly doubt that he uses with his straight male friends, straight male costumers and counterparts. I am really angry that at this stage, this behaviour is still acceptable, or made look like it is.
Used this bar a few times and found the drink was resonably priced and the staff very pleasant. Although they sell food we did not eat there as we ate at the hotel we were staying at.
