What User doesn't like about Da Lorenzo:
very slow service, little careful. We had to wait a long time to take the empty dishes away to order dessert. food, on the other hand, is very good. the atmosphere is characteristic, sin for the bikes that rub at full speed on the adjacent road, that spoils a little but nothing. overall a good experience, I would gladly return. honest prices. DEPOSIT FOR REHEARSAL DINNER NON RESPONSIVNESS We booked this restaurant for our rehearsal dinner pre pandemic for August 2020, then boom the pandemic hits, so we do everything in our power not to cancel our Italian wedding (we are from the US) and postpone to June 2021 in hopes that everything will be better. Fast forward to January of 2021 and with 5 months to go, nothing has changed and our Venue in Ravello cancels our wedding and fully refunds our deposit knowing that it is IMPOSSIBLE for us to host our wedding there , even after post poning and trying to help the Italian businesses thru this time. We have requested a refund for our rehearsal dinner deposit MULTIPLE times. We have given fair and far enough notice to be given 1,000 EUROS back. The restaurant has not had to plan, or order anything for our dinner so that excuse is not acceptable. After writing to them multiple times with no response we are resorting to leaving a review so that other potential clients can see how they do business. As business owners ourselves we are completely aware of the effects the COVID 19 pandemic has had on businesses however , there were absolutely no services provided or costs incurred to this business in regards to our dinner that was set to place first in 2020 and then in 2021.
We were staying at Villa dei Vescovi and had intended to visit the Pizzeria Liviana for an evening meal but had found it closed (probably due to holidays), so we wandered up the road to this Trattoria instead. Initially, we were put off by the total absence of any staff or clientele (it was 7:30pm) but as we could hear noises coming from the kitchen we decided to persevere. Once we sat down the staff made every effort to make us feel welcome going through the menu and translating into English (although we had a basic grasp of Italian, there were still several items on the menu we were unsure of) and we settled on the pasta dishes as there were 2 vegetarians in our party. Everyone enjoyed their meals which had a real home cooked taste and we also tried the mixed dolci for pudding (a sample of several different puddings), which worked out well with our party not being able to decide on any one pudding! All in all a great experience and by the time we left the place was buzzing!
If you like to be mistreated and offended by the rude waiter, this is the right place! It is unlucky that this place serves good food for a fair price (hence the 2 stars) bc the waiter ruins it all: i have attended this restaurant several occasions and all of them i have experienced the lack of politeness and professionalism of the waiter, who not so covertly offends his guests (we caught him telling us “sfigati” and “va in figa to mare”, respectively for having asked him for a doggy bag and for having thanked him for it). Not to mention that he openly told us that he was going to reuse some of the food we left on our platters. Lastly the bill was wrong.
