We love Primo! It is always a wonderful experience. Bruce, our waiter is such a nice man. He knows the menu well and makes great suggestions! We had the Gnocci alla Romana, the salad with Proscuitto, the pasta tartufu Nero and filet. Everything was perfectly prepared and mouth watering delicious! The cocktails are great, and the wine list has a great balance of Italian and California wines at all price points. Hands... View all feedback.
What Lawrence S doesn't like about Primo Italia:
The food at Primo Italia is always flavorful and excellent. Wife and I had Siciliana salad salad could have been a bit more seasoned), Strozzapreti, and Orecchiette. The prices for these entrees are probably priced accordingly, however, the 2 oz. of Pinot Noir $17) and the Pear Martini $14) are over-priced. Restaurant was great. Food was very good. Calamari was ok but not excellent. The fried Burrata was delicious. The dishes we had had great flavor and portion. It was noisy but the piano player did well. Definitely going back again.
We always sit in the back room for a quiet evening... the music is great in the main room but it's too loud for us. Great to have the option. The artichoke appetizer is fabulous... it's not a salad it's three artichoke hearts w stems in a great marinade ... we all loved it.. The pork chop is more than outstanding!! Beyond flavorful, moist and a fabulous huge portion!!! All of the pastas were delicious. We had both cannoli and three svooos of sorbet for dessert. A great dinner for four.. we all loved it. The waiter was both knowledgeable, friendly and accessible. Thank you for a great evening, Robin

The largest problem is, if you are seated in the front dining area and the live music is playing, it is impossible to have a conversation with your table mates without shouting. The volume for the piano and voice microphones need to be turned down. Ask to be seated well away from the front area if you want to have a nice conversation while dining. Overall, because of the sound level and ambiance of sitting in the front dining room, just a fair experience.
Hidden gem in Torrance/PV. Food and drinks are excellent and reasonably priced. More authentic Italian than other places in the area. Love the artichoke salad—I could eat this every day. Only criticism is don't order cannoli if you love cannoli like I do—you will be disappointed.
