My favorite hearty Japanese Udon Soba Tempura place in Torrance! Had tempura soba (hot) and marinated tuna bowl with plum sake and it was outstanding. Friends said cold soba was also really good, and agreed the tempura was impressive.
We have come here a few times and each visit has been great. The food is always fresh and delicious. Highly recommend making a reservation ahead of time. Definitely try the soba! They make it in house and it’s so good! My absolute favorite is the Asari appetizer. The flavor was amazing!!!!
I visited the restaurant on Saturday afternoon at 1 PM, and I was promptly seated with my reservation by friendly waitstaff. They kindly served us hot green tea, which was a lovely touch. I ordered the Kaiseki Lunch special, which included everything I was hoping for: a salad, an appetizer, sashimi, tempura, soba (or udon), some nigiri, and a scoop of ice cream to finish. The salad featured a standard sesame dressing, while the sashimi was decent, with the snapper standing out as particularly good. The appetizer included mozuku, duck, and miso-infused cream cheese. The tempura, featuring vegetables as well as squid and fish, was cooked perfectly—crispy and light on oil. The housemade soba had a delightful texture, accompanied by a flavorful bonito broth. The nigiri was the highlight, with tuna, snapper, yellowtail, scallop, and uni, all very fresh and flavorful. I definitely plan to return for more!
I ordered cold soba it was so chewy and crazily good! I’m definitely will come back to try all their menu
