At Orestone Manor - Torquay

So a beautiful place with amazing eating. this is a rather expensive place to go, but its Michelin style food quality makes it a very special place!

This was not our first visit, so we were disappointed on this occasion. Whilst the waiting staff took account of food intolerances when taking our order, the kitchen made a number of small mistakes which, had the intolerances been full-blown allergies, could have caused problems. Both the steak and the venison we found to be on the tough side and not of the quality that we would expect from Orestone Manor.

Orestone Manor failed to mention they were closed on their open table page and when they phoned to tell me they were, in fact, closed they were not particularly apologetic. In addition, the didn't seem to change their settings on the online booking sites so more people are likely to be let down in a similar manner. Their food might be nice but I shan't try to book again for fear of being let down last-minute in a similar manner.

We had a very pleasant evening with friends. The food was delicious, the staff were attentive but discrete and the surroundings and atmosphere were very pleasant.

We chose this place by tripadvisor as he was on the way to torquay. it rained and so we needed a lunch somewhere where we couldn't park a problem. eating was nice, especially the pistacio franzipan tart with sky sorbet. I chose fresh honey, which was excellent and my man huh. the service was nice. I would recommend it very much.
