Yamato in Yorkville offers a diverse dining experience with options ranging from teppanyaki to sushi. Despite some mixed reviews, many patrons appreciate the prompt service, fresh sushi, reasonable prices, and entertaining chef performances. The teppanyaki dinner offers a variety of grilled meats, seafood, and vegetables, all at a good value. Reservations are recommended, especially for lunch, where prices are even more budget-friendly. While some found the experience underwhelming, others found it to be exquisite, with delicious food and entertaining shows. Overall, Yamato seems to provide a unique and enjoyable dining experience for many.
Sat at a table with a show. While our cook was not as good at the show as some of the others it was fun and good. Just a little different for a night out. $124 with tax and tip.
Dre: In Yorkville, there's a Japanese restaurant called Yamato. It has several teppanyaki tables so we decided to go there for lunch. Reservations are highly recommended as this place is very popular! The lunch prices are very decent as well. You can start from $9.99 for a beef teppanyaki meal! I went all out and got chicken and shrimp $15) as well as some sake. It was a really good value considering the chef puts on a show for you too! The meal also came with veggies. If you want fried rice though, it's an extra $5. It comes with white rice as default.
The man standing at the front wasn't very friendly, which was kind of off putting, but the service at our table was amazing. We had Anna as our server and Romeo as our chef. The drinks kept coming and the food was awesome. The onion soup was good, the salad was just ok and definitely no complaints about our mains. My filet mignon was cooked perfectly. Banana crepe for dessert was the perfect happy ending to a great meal.
I visited Toronto this past Friday and met up with friends from Montreal and Chicago. We had a fantastic meal! Everything was...
