Xawaash offers a unique blend of Somali and Middle Eastern cuisine. While some customers were disappointed by the food quality, slow service, and unkept interiors, others raved about the flavorful dishes and generous portions. The falafel, goat chops, and dessert received particular praise. The diverse menu offers something for everyone, with standout dishes like kofta, shawarma, and delicious Somali tea. Family-run, Xawaash aims to provide a warm and welcoming dining experience, although improvements in service and consistency are needed. Despite mixed reviews, it is a popular choice for those looking to explore new flavors in Toronto.

One of my Somalia friend recommended this resturant. So i went there and i ordered Chicken Kofta and Chicken Hebab with Rice and Fried Chicken Legs with Rice.First i tried Chicken kofta hebab with rice. rice is so tasty, we can eat rice without any dishes that much taste i like the rice taste. Chicken kofta chikcen kebab well cooked and one the top well toasted. Then i tried fried chicken legs with rice. Rice is good but the chicken is too much oil. I dont like fried chicken leg perosnally other than that everything i loved it.

Been here twice. Both times both the chicken and lamb mandi were consistently on point. The flavours were just right and not overwhelming. The meat, especially the lamb, was cooked to tenderness. This is a casual family friendly restaurant. The coffee is also a hit!

I’m never disappointed when I visit Xawaash at either location. The owner is so lovely and accommodating for those who aren’t familiar with East African food, and the staff gives terrific recommendations. I’ve enjoyed everything I’ve tried so far, especially the Lamb Mandi. Would recommend this spot to anyone at any time!

I was recommended this restaurant by a friend from Somalia, so I decided to give it a try. I ordered the Chicken Kofta and Chicken Kebab with Rice, as well as Fried Chicken Legs with Rice. The rice was so tasty that I could eat it alone without any other dishes. The Chicken Kofta and Chicken Kebab were both well-cooked and perfectly toasted. However, the fried chicken legs were a bit too oily for my liking. Personally, I do not enjoy fried chicken legs, but aside from that, I really enjoyed everything else about the meal. Overall, it was a great dining experience.

In terms of the food, it was exceptional. The dishes were well-seasoned and the portion sizes were generous. We tried the beef Xawaash Bowl and the lamb fatayer, both of which were delicious. We plan to give them a reminder call 30 minutes before our next visit.
