My good friend and I had lunch at this friendly local pub. I had the bangers and mash which were very good. The sausage was cooked to order (well done) and they (3) were accompanied by garlic mashed potatoes and a dash of onions. The food was reasonably priced and it seemed there were a good number of specials. The atmosphere is inviting and the service friendly. This is a good place to meet for a friendly get togeth... Used to come here a lot many years ago, good english pub. Now different ownersand not nearly as busy as the old days. The good, food was good and prices seemto have gone down. The poor service was not good at all, if they could improveon that, they would draw the packed houses of before. View all feedback.
After getting a couple of pints, we perused the menu which included specials. We both decided on the specials. My dining companion chose the Linguine with Snowpeas, Mushrooms, and Spinach topped with Blackened Chicken in a Pesto Cream Sauce, served with garlic bread. The dish was flavorful, but the blackening on the chicken was not very noticeable. It was a good deal at $11.99. I opted for the Garlic Peppered Grilled Calamari on Greek Salad. The calamari was cooked perfectly, not rubbery and had a balanced peppery flavor that complemented the sweetness of the calamari. It was also a good value at $12.99. The meal was even better with the 25% discount on the food.
On the eve of the highly anticipated Mayweather vs Pacquiao superfight, my friends and I found ourselves struggling to find a place to watch the match as the first couple of places we tried were fully booked with only waiting lists available. Determined to find somewhere to watch the fight without the crowds of subway riders and condo dwellers, we decided to explore the pubs off of Yonge St. The first pub we tried asked for a steep cover charge of $25 per person, which was a bit too much for us. However, we then remembered a cozy pub located on Sheppard just west of Victoria Park where we used to hang out after playing hockey. This pub only charged us a $10 cover fee each, so we ended up watching the fight there. The atmosphere was welcoming with pool tables and two seating areas, and the smell of the food all around was enticing. It was a much better choice than being stuck on a waiting list on bustling Yonge St.
Awesome Food and Great Service.. This place has new ownership so I decided to give it another look and was extremely impressed, amazing food at a reasonable price and excellent service.
The guacamole was fresh and had a delicious spice that I am starting to enjoy. The bacon was crispy and the burger was flavorful. The guacamole definitely outshined the Monterey Jack cheese. It didn't even really need cheese on it.
Great place food is always good, doesn't matter what you order. The service is always friendly and willing to help you. It doesn't look like...
